The Alamillo Bridge by Santialgo Calatrava

The following was a project for 4.203 Geometric Modeling, a CAD class here at MIT's Architecture Department. Based on the Ecole des Beaux Artes practice of the Analytique, an artistic study of a building and concepts related to its construction, this piece depicts Santiago Calatrava's Alamillo Bridge, in Seville. The bridge was constructed for the World's Fair, and was completed in 1992. Also here are 2 stills from a 1.5 minute computer animation of the bridge. I modelled the structure in AutoCAD, then rendered in 3-D Studio, dumped to VHS and added music. You can get the Cinepak'd Quicktime file below, plus FLC files, with no audio.
