Some Conceptual Considerations:
- What is the scope of the dream universe?  What are its rules and values?  What is its map and its iconography?  Should it be player-extensible?  Should it allow for exceptions?
 
- Why would we want to participate?
 
- How is activity in a public space defined? the WWW? the pager?
 
- What aspect of the narrative can be communicated through each venue?
 
- By what media: expressive text, image, sound?
 
- What autonomous action types and abilities might characters make use of?
 
- What are the specific roles of the players?
 
- What combinations of character roles are condusive to good narrative?  Which are disasterous?
 
- How does a player get to be a player?
 
- What modes of interaction can we provide?  How do we invite interaction?
 
- What kinds of character actions can produce meaningful consequences in the story world?
 
- Which iconographical elements cross cultures well?  Which do not, and why?
 
- What does the adaptive story need to know about the participants?
 
- How can the story sense or know the actions of participants?
 
- How and when does the participant know that they are affecting the story world by their interaction?
 
- What signifies the beginning and the end of the participant experience?
 
- What signifies the beginning and the end of the total experience?
 
- How can the system ensure that each participant's experience is a satisfying story?
