CONSTRUCTING NEW, IMAGINARY OBJECTS:

  1. Morphing or combining pre-existent objects so that they merge into one new object. Searching for surprising combinations: Magritte's mermaid, where the top half is a fish and the bottom half a woman.

  2. Constructing totally new fantasy forms, especially out of surprising elements: a figure made of sound and shadows.

  3. Projecting objects onto surfaces and materials that distort them out of recognition.
