The basic piece of knowledge you to possess is that a good scanner is available in the IC main lab area, Room E15-427.

To use this machine, launch "Photoshop." Under the "File" menu of the menubar is the "Acquire" label: under that, choose the "TWAIN Acquire" option.

When saving images, the best choice of format is probably "GIF." A pretty but somewhat lossy second choice is "JPEG." It is probably best if you create your own personal folder to hold your images.
