Different authors have different journalistic intentions and shooting
styles. The potential for complex, multi-threaded
evolving documentaries will be constrained until we
develop generalized computational approaches to presentation.
ConTour seeks to solve this problem by exploring issues crucially
related to multi-threaded, evolving documentaries,
including: multiple authorship and multiple story versions;
representing complex, real-world story materials in computationally
useful ways; dynamically creating and presenting meaningful story
sequences based on system knowledge of content and user
interaction
