It was nice to meet a professional player, like Amanda Coetzer, in real life.She is a nice, gentle kind of person.

Luis, Jorge, and I (Mesui) asked her a lot of questions. We asked, "What would you do if you weren't a professional player?" Amanda replied, "I would go back to school and study." One of Amanda's dreams is to win a grand-slam title. Amada's favorite stroke is her forehand.

Amanda practices between four and five hours on a hard day. She ws a semi-finalist in the French Open this year. Amanda became a professional player when she was sixteen or seventeen. Amanda started playing tennis when she was five or six years old. We also asked Amanda what advice would you give to some one who was just starting off in the game? "Amanda said, "Just have fun and don't play tennis if you don't want to."

Amanda was born in Hoopstad, South Aftrica on October 22, 1971. One of the most important things that happened to Amanda was that the president of Aftrica, Nelson Mandella, called her a month ago.

Amanda has started a tennis program,"LearnTennis, LoveTennis." The program is for kids who want to have the opportunity to play tennis. Rev Cecil Williams programs feed the needy, homeless families, kids and teenagers. Rev. Cecil Williams serves about 1 million meals a year in his program. His program is in San Francisco at Glide Memorial Church. Rev. Cecil has upwards of 250 volunteers. Most of Rev. Cecil William's volunteers are teenagers. Rev. Cecil program helps drug addicts and homeless people; he reaches out to people who need help.
