Research Supervisor: Glorianna Davenport

Glorianna Davenport is a founding member of the MIT Media Lab where she serves as a principal research associate and heads the Interactive Cinema Group. She is co-founder of Media Lab Europe where she heads the Story Networks Group. Trained as a documentary filmmaker, Davenport has achieved international recognition for her work in new media forms. Her research explores fundamental issues related to the collaborative co-construction of digital media experiences, where the task of narration is split among authors, consumers, and computer mediators.

Principal Investigator: Pengkai Pan

Pengkai Pan is a PhD candidate and researcher at the MIT Media Lab. His interest in Participatory Media has led him to research shareable media architectures, evolve a team-based approach to constructing stories for mobile cinema, and explore potential architecture for ad-hoc participatory video cameras. Pengkai Pan earned his Master's degree from MIT in 1999. Prior to his entering MIT, he was awarded a Bachelor's degree from ZheJiang University, China, where for three years he served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science .

M-Views Development Team: David Crow, Meng Mao and William T. Stoltzman.

David Crow graduated from MIT with a degree in Brain and Cognitive Sciences, concentrating in Artificial Intelligence and Computation. He is the system programmer for the M-Views Presenter and server, and works on the video production team. He also leads the effort to expand M-Views research and deployment in Media Lab Europe.

Meng Mao is currently a sophomore and William T. Stoltzman is currently a junior in the MIT Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department.

M-Views Development Alumni/ae: Carly Kastner, Daniel Bersak, Sha Ma, Steven Chan, Elizabeth Werbos, and Tsehsiang Teo.

Carly Kastner graduated from MIT with a Master's in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Her thesis was on the design and implementation of the M-Studio platform. She currently lives in California to escape the Boston weather.

M-Views Production Team: David Crow and Lilly Kam.

Lilly Kam is currently a senior at MIT, double majoring in Management and Comparative Media Studies. Her interests include film and television production, documentaries, and traveling. Besides working on M-Views, she is editing a personal project, a documentary of a recent road trip to Tennessee. She also has a UROP in Comparative Media Studies, and is an MIT campus tour guide.
